Historique :	Dans l'église abbatiale de Boulbonne, les deux chapelles latérales les plus proches du choeur étaient dédiées l'une, à saint Martin, et l'autre, à saint Jean-Baptiste. Le cadre de ce tableau est identique à celui du tableau de saint Jean-Baptiste (PM31002711).

Précision_sur la representation :	Scène de la Charité de saint Martin : un soldat romain à cheval coupe en deux son manteau pour en donner une moitié au pauvre homme qui marche sur la même route. Le froid et le mauvais temps sont suggérés par les nuages et l'arbre ployant sous le vent.
