Historique :	Petit groupe daté du 16e siècle, provenant de la niche extérieure d'une maison de Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges. La dévotion à Notre-Dame de Pitié s'est répandue très largement à partir du 14e siècle. La plupart des églises, comme les chapelles de cimetières, ont accueilli des autels dédiés à la Vierge des douleurs, la compassion de la Vierge étant mise en parallèle avec la Passion du Christ.

Précision sur_l'état :	Statue restaurée en 2010 par Maud Lagarrigue.
Précision_sur la representation :	Petite Vierge de Pitié très caractéristique des 15e et 16e siècles : la Vierge assise porte sur ses genoux écartés le corps de son fils mort, qu'elle maintient en posant une main sur son front et l'autre sur ses genoux. Son visage est penché vers le Christ. Elle est vêtue d'une robe rouge, et porte une guimpe et un voile bleu formant manteau.
