Historique :	L'église de Roquesérière a été fondée par les moines de Moissac, qui se sont installés près de la route menant à Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle. L'église du 12e siècle a été restaurée très largement au 19e siècle, mais reste par son plan et son porche une église du premier art roman. La statue de la Vierge peut avoir été réalisée au moment de la présence des moines.

Précision sur_l'état :	Statue largement repeinte, y compris les visages de couleur noire.
Précision_sur la representation :	Vierge debout, légèrement déhanchée, portant l'Enfant Jésus très haut sur le bras gauche, elle tient un objet dans la main droite (sceptre ?). Le drapé transversal de la robe, en écharpe sur la poitrine, et la chute de plis enroulés sous le bras sont des caractéristiques de la sculpture du 14e siècle.
