Historique :	La chapelle Notre-Dame-d'Esputs se trouve à 850m d'altitude au pied du Pic du Gar. Son nom viendrait du mot latin podium, c'est à dire montagne, pic. Cette chapelle faisait partie de la paroisse de Fronsac jusqu'en 1854, date à laquelle Mgr Mioland, archevêque de Toulouse, érigea l'église de Chaum en succursale séparée de Fronsac. La chapelle fut finalement attribuée à Chaum. On ignore les circonstances de sa fondation, assurément ancienne. Au 12e siècle, un village et une paroisse rattachée au prieuré de Saint-Béat avaient pris la succession d'un établissement gallo-romain, dont de nombreux vestiges ont été retrouvés. Il s'agissait sans doute de sanctuaires en l'honneur du Gar. La chapelle continue d'attirer les pèlerins, notamment chaque année pour le 8 septembre.

Précision_sur la representation :	Vierge commingeoise debout tenant l'Enfant Jésus sur le bras gauche, avec un pan de son manteau qui forme tablier et retombe en quille, selon un modèle gothique.
