Historique :	Le Comminges a la particularité d'être riche d'un grand nombre de monuments funéraires antiques, remployés pour l'essentiel dans les murs des églises, ou dispersés dans les jardins où il servent souvent de jardinières. Ces objets constituent un ensemble très homogène quant aux formes et aux décors. Ils sont très peu représentés dans les musées, et sont menacés par l'érosion, le vol ou des dégradations multiples.
