Historique :	L'habitude de placer un crucifix en bois, ou plus souvent en ivoire, sur un fond de velours ou de soierie encadré, est née au 17e siècle, pour orner les sacristies et les oratoires domestiques. Le Christ de Lherm est traité avec une expression dramatique propre aux 17e et 18e siècles.
