Historique :	Cet instrument datant de 1889 est l'un des dix-huit équatoriaux doubles, à monture anglaise, construits par Paul Gautier. Les objectifs photographiques et visuels sont dus aux frères Henry. La Carte du Ciel est un projet scientifique de grande envergure, débuté en 1887 par l'amiral Mouchez, faisant l'objet d'une collaboration internationale au niveau mondial.
