Historique :	Ce groupe sculpté est une Vierge Commingeoise, conforme au type décliné en de nombreux exemplaires dans les églises des vallées pyrénéennes, dans celles du Comminges et de ses abords. Ce groupe de Vierge dite à la pomme se rattache à un groupe plus large de Vierges assises, perpétuan aux 13e et 14e siècle la tradition romane des Vierges d'Adoration très présentes en Catalogne. Au 14e siècle, elles portent ces couronnes crénelées ou à fleurons. Toutes ont en commun le voile court et la tunique ceinturée recouverte d'un manteau drapé. On peut prendre comme autres exemples celles de Billière ou de Garin.

Précision_sur la representation :	Groupe en bois sculpté, évidé au dos, représentant la Vierge, couronnée, assise, tenant une pomme. L'Enfant Jésus est assis sur ses genoux, couronné, la main gauche sur la poitrine, la droite tenant une petite sphère (globe? pomme?).
