Historique :	Louis de Planet (1814-1875) s'inscrit en 1833 à l'atelier de Joseph Roques, ancien maître d'Ingres, puis dans l'atelier d'Eugène Delacroix en 1836 dont il devient le collaborateur de 1841 à 1844. Il participe au chantier de la Chambre des députés et expose régulièrement au Salon. En 1853, il se brouille avec Delacroix et ralentit sa production. En 1875, son atelier est dispersé et nombre de ses oeuvres ont été ou sont toujours attribuées à Delacroix. La famille de Planet ayant posédé les terres de Pechbusque au 19e siècle, il semble assez logique qu'on ait fait appelle à Louis. Tableau restauré en 1991.
