Historique :	Victor Allègre propose de dater ce saint Michel de la fin du 15e siècle, époque à laquelle la représentation du saint en chevalier vient concurrencer la grande tunique traditionnelle de l'archange. (Seul le port des ailes différencie alors Michel de Georges).

Précision sur_l'état :	Ont disparu la petite aile gauche (la droite est amputée) et la lance dont le saint frappait le diable.
Précision_sur la representation :	Saint Michel est représenté en guerrier, le torse protégé par une cuirasse, le bras gauche entièrement caché par un grand écu marqué d'une croix. Il est imberbe, le cheveu très court ; il lui reste au dos une petite aile droite, amputée. Il foule aux pieds le diable à tête de loup ou de chien. Le sculpteur aurait voulu marquer une différence nette entre la pudeur de l'archange qui porte une feuille de vigne malgré son harnachement, et le diable qui expose un sexe imposant entre ses jambes écartées.
